The 2010 Jack in the Box Collegiate Wakeboard National Championships, part of CBS College Sports Network's Alt Games, will be held May 14-16 at Mission Bay’s Hidden Anchorage Cove in San Diego, Calif. Action from the fifth annual event, sanctioned by USA Wakeboard, will air nationally on both CBS College Sports Network and CBS Sports.
This year's team competition consists of an innovative head-to-head format, with each team comprised of four male wakeboard riders, two female wakeboard riders, and one wakeskater (a wakeboard division rider will be allowed to ride in the wakeskate division). The team with at least four wins out of the seven head-to-head match ups will win the round and advance to the next until a champion is crowned. The University of Florida has won the past two national titles.
New for 2010 is an individual collegiate wakeboard competition that will also run as part of the College Wakeboard Nationals. The individual competition is open to all male and female collegiate riders. You do not have to be part of a team. You can still come out and compete for a title. All you need is to be a registered college student and a USA Wakeboard member. If you are interested in participating, contact Chris Beckman at

. The cost for this event (if you are not competing as a team) is $35.
Travel Stipends will be available to all teams and individual competitors if the entry form and payment is received by May 8.
In addition, USA Wakeboard, in conjunction with CBS College Sports Network, continues to strive in providing top-notch competition venues with restricted waterways, as well as venues that provide a higher level of entertainment off the water. This year, all USA Wakeboard competitors will be invited to the famous San Diego Wave House on Saturday, May 15 for dinner and a concert featuring The Summer Set and Iration.
The competition host hotel, Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, is the only hotel in San Diego with multiple water slides, three new pools, waterfront health club and a full-service marina with jet skis, sailboats, kayaks, sports fishing and whale excursions.
